New House

Mad and I will be moving into a new house in about ten days which is really really awesome.  What is even cooler is that this will really be my first place (even if as a renter).  I had two different apartments in college, but considering vacations and such they never really felt like my own place, also they were owned by the school and so had this quality to them that didn’t ever invite the sense of ownership.  Sure, we won’t own the house, but for one year it will be our space (assuming we don’t get kicked out for some reason or another).  Further, because it is a one year lease, that means I will be staying down south in Greenville for some time longer.  The house we are renting is really close to downtown and the library, so I intend to go without a vehicle for awhile to save some money.  Very cool stuff here.  During lunch today I called the power company and got them to turn on the electricity for the day before we move in.

I should also express my appreciation to Walker and Natalia (the Hunter and Muska, or Huskas, or Huntuskas) for letting me live in the upstairs of their house for nearly nine months.  It was their offer of a place to live that brought me down Greenville way in the first place.  Thank you very much guys, hope you both know how grateful and appreciative I am about your giving me a place to live.

  1. I’m excited to know you and Mad will be in Greenville for a while and you’ll be right down the street from Meg and I!!!

  2. This is pretty rocking news!!!! I suggest that we celebrate this momentous occasion tomorrow as the first beer is on Phil.

Since you’re staying in Gville another year, I shall also stay in Gville another year.

BTW,if you need a bicycle to get around downtown, I have one that may fit you. I am in the process of converting it into a very nerdy-cool bike messenger-style single speed. It is banana yellow.

  3. You forgot to mention the dancing room!

  4. Oh yeah, there is an extra bedroom in the house that will be used for the dancing and enjoyment of life. Further, Olivier, I may have to take you up on that Bike offer as I’ve been looking around some for a good bicycle to ride work. Yes indeed, it is exciting to stay in the South for awhile longer. I’ll see if I can instill more good ol’ New England Liberal mentality to the region.

  5. It might be a month yet before I have it all rebuilt. Wegotz to make sure itz not too tall for u.
