This is a little bit strange
For some reason this morning when I first got to work I found myself thinking about the fact that there probably are very few living veterans of WWI left. I can’t recall why I thought this, but I did. Now I find this article from Time Magazine about the death of the last French veteran of WWI. He was 110 years old. How few remain.
My grandfather fought in WWI and WWII. He would have been 110 this year as well. It’s strange to think of WWI as a war that will seem as ancient sometime in our lifetimes as the civil war seemed when we were kids. Yet here we are.
