And Upward I Move . . .
After working as Library Assistant III in the Hughes Main Library Technology Center for nearly a year I have now been offered a new position. I will now be working as a Staff Development Specialist with the main job of training new library employees as well as providing/promoting updated knowledge of library practices, procedures, and technology. It sounds really cool and I look forward to learning some new skills.
Of course the new job will change a lot of things. No longer will I just be sitting around a lot of the day waiting for somebody to need assistance on this and/or that. I will have projects and assignments that I will be regularly be working on. This excites me because I love having stuff to do. Of course the reality is that I will probably not be able to do as much (if any) blogging during the day. So it goes. Still I will be getting paid quite a bit more, of which I am hoping to be able to use some of the money to get myself a vehicle.
So anyways, very excited and all. It feels good to know that I am getting the opportunity to try something different for awhile. I am also excited about the fact that I will get to keep working for the library, which I like quite a bit (especially considering the good benefits it provides). So awesome, yeah.
Congratulations again, Lord! I hope you find this position to be more rewarding and challenging.
