Lake Champlain
Just a quick post here. A wonderful article by Christopher Shaw about canoeing down Lake Champlain following the route that Samuel de Champlain took over four hundred years ago. The article is both an effective piece of travel literature as well as a great look at history. I personally really enjoyed it because I grew up not far from Lake Champlain, which, if you have never been there, is a beautiful long lake that serves as the divide between New York and Vermont.
The New York Times also provides us with this slide show of images of Lake Champlain.
