Bonnaroo 2009

So yesterday I came upon the Bonnaroo 2009 lineup and I found it pretty awesome looking.  A lot of good groups and artists that would be fun to see.

My brother, some of his friends, and I all went to Bonnaroo back in 2006 and got to see some amazing music.  My personal favorite that year was Radiohead but I also greatly enjoyed Beck, Tom Petty, Oysterhead, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and a whole bunch of others.  All around it was a great experience which was entirely worth the money and long hours driving from Jericho, Vermont to Manchester, Tennessee (about two 12 hour days on the road).

I have said before that I would really like to go back again, and I still feel the same way this year.  Sure Bonnaroo is a stomping ground for a bunch of dirty deviant hippies (don’t take it wrong if you happen to be one, I’m just speaking the truth).  Sure it promotes general poor life decision making, of which, in 2006, I made a great great many (though avoided any major conflicts).  Sure you walk away from the whole thing wondering to yourself, “what the fuck just happened?”  But I insist that it is a blast.

Ian, that brother of mine, has already said that he intends to go again this summer and it really makes me want to consider it.  But damn it is a lot of money.  Also it is more fun if you have a good group to go with?  Any body interested?
