Easter Candy
I feel like this Newsweek article on the unhealthy nature of Easter candy was written entirely so that I can read it, laugh, and then ignore it in its entirty. Of all the holiday candies (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s day) I think Easter my produce my favorite sweets.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love all candies, regardless of holiday association, but Easter has a candy I love to a degree nearly inexpressible. That being the Easter jellybean. Holy shit! I love jellybeans! Sure I can have them all year around with Jelly Bellies, but personally I just love the generic Easter brands more. Amazing amazing stuff. I can’t wait until Monday to buy up vast quantities of marked down jellybeans.
The only other holiday candy that comes close to equal love/desire that I have for jellybeans are candycanes, which are also amazing.
But then again, all candy is amazing. In fact pretty much anything sweet is amazing.
That is all.
WOW. I too love jellybeans, but we’re way behind in the Easter treat market here in the UK – jellybeans aren’t something particularly associated with Easter. We’re still stuck in the chocolate egg/rabbit/sheep rut – however all still preferable to the bitter herbs/burnt egg of Passover. Thank goodness for the multitude of faiths on this earth.
Nothing quite like some good ol’ Passover bitter herbs
