R.I.P. Ray Bradbury: 1920 – 2012
The fantastic author Ray Bradbury passed away yesterday. Over the years I have dived into many a Bradbury story, and from them pulled great enjoyment. Something Wicked This Way Comes and A Graveyard for Lunatics were fantastic in their chilling suspense. The Martian Chronicles is still one of my favorite works of science fiction. Fahrenheit 451 will always be a haunting image of a dystopic future where reading books is a crime. Zen in the Art of Writing is one of the best contemplation on writing I have ever encountered. Add to these his multiple short stories and essays and I was provided with a prolific repetoir of thoughts and styles and stories about strange people and stanger places. I am greatful for the great works he created in his life. I am sure their greatness will continue onward. And I am also sure that Mr. Bradbury will be missed.
